We spent a large part of a day watching the tiger called Collarwali in Pench National Park. She was a local legend, the subject of a widely seen documentary, and a wonderful hunter who raised many litters of cubs. Here is a selection of photos by which I remember this magnificent striped animal.

Excellent! Whatever number of times you see tiger in wild, every new sighting brings same amount of thrill and goosebumps!

A majestic beauty – could not have found anything more beautiful than this tiger, Collarwali. Is she still there now?

I.J. – what a magnificent animal! I love all of your images especially those with the cub. A perfect choice for the challenge – I’d love to see such a gorgeous creature in the wild.

Wonderful wonderful. Such beautiful animals, many endangered, many varieties extinct. Save the tigers!
